Pizza Hut

On 12th Nov 09, a bunch of us celebrated RenYi's birthday at Pizza Hut... located somewhere I forgot the name of the place, but I know it is near Old Klang Road.

Apart from the normal pizzas in the menu, Pizza Hut was also having lunch express meals.
It was called Sensasi Pizza.

The lunch express came with:
  • a personal pan pizza (a choice of Triple Chicken, Cheesey Chicken, Waikiki Paradise or Ocean Tuna).
  • a cup of thirst quenching chilled diabetic coke
  • freshly baked cheese sticks which melts in the mouth
  • and the soup of the day -usually mushroom soup.

Something new in the menu was this:

But I dont remember what it was called.

Since it was RenYi's birthday and a few of us ordered the combo meal, Pizza Hut gave a complimentary birthday 'pizza' to the birthday boy.
It looked more like pizza crust topped with a scoop of ice cream.

There was a birthday cake from us to RenYi too. Chocolate cake topped with strawberry, chosen by ZiFen :)

Ninja Assassin vs New Moon

I had the chance to watch Ninja Assassin on Wednesday and then New Moon today at midvalley.

Both movies were so different from each other.

I was hoping New Moon would be action packed.

But, it was more dramatic, slow motion close up on the actor's faces, 100% clear shots of how emotional they can get and portray it so well. I must say KUDOS to the actors. The movie wasn't bad because of the actors. The movie just lack substance and excitement.

This was how Alex described the movie:

______________/\_______________

"A straight line, with the mini hump representing the oh-so minimal fighting scene, and then a straight line again."

I agreed with him. In fact, I was thinking the same thing right after the movie ended.
Speaking of endings, the movie's ending was ........... WTH
Typical of a movie sequel. No, I have no intention of watching the third installment. The first sequel was very disappointing, the second was not as bad as the first but still a waste of my time. Third time lucky? I don't think so!

Yes, I admit, I have fallen victim to the marketing and advertisements for New Moon. Their trailers and promotion on the movie made me yearn to watch it.
Alas, all the hype for a great disappointment.

Four things to look forward to in the movie:
1) The great, convincing acting from all actors.

2) A few funny scenes and lines which tickles the bone.

3) A couple of adrenaline pumping scenes.

4) Lastly, this:

Yess.. when Taylor Lautner removed his shirt in one scene, the people in the cinema when ooh, aahhh n laughter started ;)

Ninja Assassin

Ninja Assassin was a total contrast from New Moon.

I actually did not have a clue of what Ninja Assassin was about till the movie.
Thanks to May Hwa for inviting me to watch the free movie premiere :)

I liked the movie, but at the same time I couldn't take it too.

My hands were practically covering my face and eyes throughout the movie.
I remember gasping and making extra 'sound effects' of fear and ickyness.
I recall my heart racing at almost every moment,
my mind busy preparing myself for the next violent killing,
my eyes, ready to be shut again before the sight of red blood oozing/splashing/squirting out of another human being........
The cinema was really cold too...

With all that, I could also hear giggles coming from my friend, ChiewVien sitting next to me.
I asked, "How could u laugh? It's not funny."
Well, CV was sitting between MayHwa and I. So May Hwa was also having some 'sound effects'.
So according to CV, she could get extra sound effects from her left and right ears.. Therefore, it made her laugh!

The stunts, the fighting scenes, the script was all good!
I do highly recommend watching Ninja Assassin....

Like I said, I went in without knowing what to expect.
And so, I came out with a racing heart and jittery sensation.

PS: I actually don't favour violent or horror movies and will never voluntarily watch one unless invited by a friend ;)

Lets Talk You Tube

Recently, I finished watching ANTM Cycle 13. Thanks to You Tube. If not I'll only get to watch it in three months.
For this cycle, the contestants have to be petite, and by 'model petite' standards, it means shorter than 5'7.
So, all Malaysian females and most Malaysian guys are petite ;)
For cycle 13, Nicole won! She is 5'7. She was a definite winner from the start.

Then there's the American Music Awards 2009. The best three performances were:

Lady Gaga rocked the house singing Bad Romance and Speechless:

Then, there's Adam Labert:

Lastly, Shakira and her 'wolf' song:

A (half) day in life

I woke up at 7.15am today
*I turned of the alarm when it rang at 6am
when I had a class at 8.15am...
Traffic was heavy at some parts....
*Luckily it was the school holidays
And my petrol was running low
*Low on the day I'm running late

Half way to uni,
I made a diversion to get some petrol,
But that petrol station was closed!
*That usually happens once in a blue moon!

I arrived at uni...
Saw the 8.15am lecturer still buying nasi lemak...
*I never saw that before ;P
So, i decided to get breakfast from the cafeteria..

In then end, many more ppl arrived later than me..
*I didn't have to rush
Lecture only started at 8.35am....
*I didn't have to rush ;)

I borrowed a book from the library..
On the way out, the library censor beeped LOUDLY..
It was embarrassing eventhough it wasn't my fault.
*Coz I saw a hunk ;)

My petrol tank lasted till I drove home
*The best part of my day

I love my Myvi :)

And so I thought...

I reached IMU at 7am today. On the way, I saw a mpv lying on its side on the fast lane on the highway, a dented roof, with shattered pieces of glasses everywhere. That was definitely going to cause a massive traffic jam when it hits 7.15am. Yesterday, a stalled lorry with a burst tire caused a huge traffic jam on a different stretch of the same highway. Sometimes I am glad I depart from home early to go to campus thus escaping the unexpected and unwanted traffic.

Today, I thought I would have to starve for two hours. I thought lecture starts at 8.15am so no breakfast till 10.15am. Alas, I checked my timetable and found out class starts at 9.30am. Hence, NO STARVING. But it is a worry when I get my timing mixed up. Me, being a planner, it rarely happens.

*Must be due to the movie, 2012, I watched yesterday :P*

Waiting for DeBrio to open to get my RM3 chicken ham sandwich :)

Chilli's @ Midvalley

I've been patronising Chilli's for many years and the food and service never fails to please me. The portion served was always fit for two or more.

On 9th November, a bunch of us went to Chilli's in Midvalley to have a triple birthday celebration for Amy, ChiewVien and KitYee.

The advantage of having a huge group of people at one restaurant is that we get to see a different variety of food ordered.

For starters, Triple Play was usually the perfect choice for sharing as it comes with three variety of food - eggroll, buffalo wings, and chicken fritters.

In the menu, the cheapest burger was the Oldtimer, priced at RM22.95 (Including tax and aded cheese. The burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and definitely activates my tastebuds now as I think about it again.

I had the time to measure the height of the burger! The burger comes with fries too.

It was definitely a mouthful :P

Below is the Chilli's Quesadillas. This was definitely a meal for two or three. Dipping into the sour cream provided ignites the flavour and satisfies the tummy :)

RenYi ordered Lamb Chops. I don't recall having lamb chops in Chilli's before, but it does look good and one thing is for sure, Chilli's mashed potatoes are famous. I remember my sister used to just order a bowl of their mashed potatoes as a meal.

One thing about sharing food is that, everything has to be shared equally(or at least almost equally).

There's ZiFen attempting to break the corn into half after failing to cut it into half using a knife.

The bill came up to Rm536.95 for a table of 21 people.

At the end of the day, Chilli's gave complimentary brownies topped with ice cream to each of the birthday girls.

So, yes, Chilli's is a must go to have a hearty meal and an enjoyable time out with friends.

Makeover '09

Two months ago I did a makeover with Kose. A makeover is always easier than doing a photoshoot. The last time I did a photoshoot with my sister for Prestige Mag was in September 2006. Three years ago!

I've had straight hair all my life, so having a half curled hair this time round was something new.

At first, I was excited when the hairstylist started using the curl iron. But then.... the curls, i think, make me look more matured.

This is a second picture I have wearing fur cover.. Suffice to say, I don't look good with fur ;P

I was lucky the clothes I slipped on for the day looked alright in the photos.

Lastly, photographers are always nice. But sometimes, they tend to give compliments like, "Good! Pretty!" But in actual fact, it is not so ;)

Boom!

Numerous times, I've been thinking of coming back to blogging with a boom... Boom as in Booming pictures..
I have hundrerds of pictures taken and yet, my blog is close to pictureless recently.
It isnt entirely my fault... Blogspot has been a pain with uploading, whatmore with the rain/lightning/thunderstorms lately, the internet lines has been acting up.

It's also weird that today marks the begining of my new semester, meaning the end of my holiday, n I am in the mood to blog.; Unfortunately, I'm not uploading pictures just yet.

I'm contemplating trying out other blog sites like wordpress or something to see if it is more convenient at photo uploading.

Like I mentioned, the new sem begins n I have one complain: I have late classes every Friday!!! I always try to be home by Friday afternoon because I dislike KL's traffic on Fridays... But now, looks like I'll be camping in campus on a weekly basis .. n that is NOT nice :(

On the bright side, the new sem began with 21 of us feasting on food at Chilli's to celebrate three people's birthdays... :)

~5 more ladies missing from the picture~

More Pictures coming soon, definitely, maybeeee :P
