Food and Tea Reetaurant, Festival City (second visit)

I take back what I raved about when i wrote about this restaurant previously (http://soblog-able.blogspot.com/2012/08/food-and-tea-restaurant-festival-city-kl.html).
The reason being, I made a second visit to this restaurant and I was dissapointed with the food. Previously I was there for a late night dinner, so the restaurant was empty. Today the restaurant was quite packed during lunch and the food was not impressive.

Kudos to the photographer who made the pictures of the food in the menu look like big portions and very appetizing. Sadly, the food served did not look like the food we saw on the menu! The portion was even smaller.

Today my family and I had their pork burger, pork meatballs, some chicken lunch set, sang har yee mee, and fried mantao with crabmeat sauce.

The fried mantaos were small.
The prawns for the sang har mee was not cooked enough. Blur waiters didnt know what to do.
Pork burger patty did not look like the one in the menu at all.
Lunch set was unsatisfyingly small.
Pork meatballs were ok.

With all that food, we finished and left the restaurant still feeling hungry! No good....

Food and Tea Restaurant, Festival City KL

I think previously I raved about Ka Fei Dian's assam laksa. But, then their assam laksa's standard started dropping the next few times I patronised Ka Fei Dian. One time they did not serve fish with my assam
Laksa and when I asked the manager where is the fish, all she said was, "Oh, the fish has not arrived.." I was definitely shocked till speechless because The main reason assam laksa was RM10 was because of the fish. Fishless assam laksa should be RM2 because it will just be noodles with laksa soup! There was also another time when their assam laksa soup was still cold when they served.....

Anyway, those incidence were obvious reasons why Ka Fei Dian no longer exist in Festival City after less than a year of opening. Now, it is being replaced with Food and Tea Restaurant. It is a non-halal restaurant because they serve pork burgers, pork minced meat porridge and other porky food. This restaurant has other branches at Aeon Cheras Selatan, Berjaya times square, one in Kuantan and two more locations.

After watching Step Up Revolution with tf, I was hungry and I have always wanted to try this restaurant. I had the look at their banner and the food was decently priced, so we gave it a try.

I had the Sang Har Mee (RM11.80) while TF had the pork porridge with century egg. Both dishes were really good actually. The big prawns tasted really good and it had the yummy egg in the head part. The sauce for the noodle was satisfying enough. As for the porridge, they did give a generous portion of pork and century eggs.

Of course, given that there is no promise that they would maintain their standard and quality of food since the mall does not really have the crowd, I do hope they do not drop like Ka Fei Dian. So, I would make another visit there again to try other stuff such as their pork burger (maybe asap).

Step Up the movie had some really good dance moves :) butthestorylinewasblah

Malaysia Promotions

Currently there are so many ongoing promotions, especially food promotions! I have compiled a few promotions that looked too good to miss out. I skipped the Baskin Robbins free ice cream giveaway because the queue, as expected, was too long.

There is also the buy 1 free 1 movie ticket at GSC when we purchase using mastercard. Because of this, I suddenly love my debit card.. :)

Nasi Goreng Meletup at Murni's USJ

This nasi goreng was so good due to the generous amount of cili padi. Cili padi is always a must with fried rice. I at it one hour ago and I can feel my stomach burning..

Waking up to these - Lip Dub & Salmon

It is a Saturday and all I felt like doing was lazing around. Feeling the blues on a Saturday.

I started browsing through the net on my bed and I found two interesting things. One was a yummy looking food, and another was a YouTube video.

The video showed an amazing boy doing a lip dub of Beyonce's music video. I watched it and I must say it made the start of my day feel better. Watch and enjoy!

I am a fan of the Rancics. I recently found out a new site they created called fabfitfun.com. The first thing I stumbled upon was a deliciously looking piece of salmon! So hungry now:)

Hibernate vs Standby

I am not exactly a tech savvy person. I do not think much of computers and its technical stuff. If my computer hangs, I just press the power button till the computer shut downs and then turn it on again. If my internet connection does not work, I just don't use the internet or just use the Iphone.

But, today I was fiddling with the display settings on my computer for like probably the second time in my life. I realised I did not know the difference between hibernate and standby. In simple English:
A bear hibernates during winter
My job requires me to standby every night.

It does irk me everytime when my computer shutsdown standy? hibernate? after I leave it for a few minutes. But, my life does not depend on the computer. Hence, there was no rush or worries to quickly  wait for the computer to start.

As I was saying... Hibernate vs Standby.... I could not figure out the difference it does to my computer Don't both commands provide a easy and quick way to leave the computer in existing last state and allow us to come back to work on it at exactly the same state later without waiting too long to system to restore itself??? So, I googled and ah hah there is a difference. SLEEP IS AKA STANDBY

Hibernate vs. Standby

Using Standby:
Your machine recovers quickly as your data is stored in RAM. The slower part is waking up the peripherals. Although your machine is in "standby" the power has been cut to items such as your hard drive and monitor. You're running your machine in a very low power mode, but it is still on. This mode can be useful if you're on a notebook and need to conserve your battery while you step away.
Windows Vista has enhanced sleep mode so that on notebook computer, sleeping computer will automatically hibernate when battery power level is low. It also has built-in Hybrid Sleep mode which ensure that system state is preserved when there is power lost.
With Hibernate:
The big difference is that your PC has shut down and is not pulling power. Another difference is that your data is saved to your hard disk and not RAM. This makes it a safer, but slower option for shut down and resume.
Not all PCs have the capability and are configured to Hibernate. If yours is, to see the Hibernate option on your XP shutdown screen, hold down the Shift key when you shut down.
Hibernate, or S4 in ACPI, meanwhile will save the data in physical memory to hard disk drive (HDD), and then power off the computer. In Hibernate mode, a file named hiberfil.sys which has the same file size as the amount of system memory will be created on the local disk. When user wants to use the computer again, the computer will boot up and load back the state at the last hibernation. The advantage of Hibernation mode is that no power is wasted for maximum saving of power. In Hibernation dormancy, no electricity is consumed by system. Beside, restore from Hibernate is generally faster than computer reboot, and is totally different from fresh start, as users can return to the exact state of last hibernation with all programs running and documents opened intact, instead of empty desktop. The disadvantage of Hibernate is that after a period of time, there may have fragmentation of file. Users will need to defragment the volume that stores the hibernation file frequently.

.....

In reality, loving money, playing some tricks, or lying are not that big of a deal.

The biggest mistake a woman would make is to be with a man she doesnt love.

Marriage is a long journey. Even if you can achieve something in the future, you will be the one that gets hurt in the end.

Wild boars

After a late night supper, my parents and I were heading home when we saw wildboars on our street!

The first wildboar i saw was rummaging trough a garbage bin of one of the houses. He was licking from an Ayam Brand can.

When we drove further up the road, we saw FIVE more wildboars!! It looked like someone has been feeding them daily. Four years ago when the major landslide happened nearby, I only saw two wildboars roaming the street. But now, there are six of them!!! They are not even afraid of humans or cars....

City wildboars ;)

Road blocks

The time of the year where festivities are starting. Certain people need to save up extra cash.

For the next three months, remember:
- no driving while texting
- no speeding while driving
- no cellphones while driving

Because....

There are just too many cops lurking around now in search of their preys..

Everyday I use the DUKE highway, there is a speed trap, usually around 12pm or so.

Bukit Kiara stretch famous for hidden blue collared men near bushes.

At night: Bukit Bintang, Imbi... KL

I swear I have never seen so many cars being stopped along roads until the past two weeks. Maybe Because I driving more??

Be lawful on the road this month for the sake of your $$$ ;)

Waze app is so helpful *hint*
