I would write more, but this is it for now... NYC

After a long absence, I'm finally back to blogging. I have a number of drafts which are still under construction, waited to be posted or left to rot.

I think New York City is such a cool place to visit. Everyone should at least, go there once. I've been to NYC three times and I'm still loving it.

The morning before I left to NYC, Roy, Pekky and I met up at Deep Run Park. Pekky brought her cat and the newly adopted dog. The dog's name is Dandy. I forgot that fat cat's name. We had Mcdonald's for lunch at the park. As usual, I ordered fillet-o-fish.

Pekky's cat is not as playful as Dandy. The cat walks slowly with a proud posture. Most of the time it hid under a shady tree and never moved. The cat scratches if it doesn't like someone.

Dandy on the other hand, cheered people up, made people stop and look, played around with any random dog and keeps on licking my leg or touch me with his wet nose, which makes me shriek a little.

There were ducks and a fountain in Deep Run Park too. It was a beautiful day tospend at the park.

After hanging around the park for awhile, we headed to Pekky's crib. Pekky bought Mcdonald's chocolate sundaes for three of us.

At 10.30pm, Eric, J.J and I started our journey to New York.
We reached Brooklyn, NY at 4am. It was chilly so early in the morning. We bunked at Eric's apartment which was super small. I've been told that I'd find a lot of apartments of that size in NYC.

The next day, we had dim sum for lunch. It was J.J's treat. It wasn't a fabulous dim sum.

After dim sum, J.J left with his cousin to settle some stuff before he flies back to Bangkok while Eric took me to Chinatown. We visited the New York's Public Library there. Later on, I tagged along while he ran some errands.

Highlights of the trip to NYC:

DAY 1:-
Eric took me to eat beef pulled-noodle in Chinatown. The noodles were handmade and pulled. It was really good.

Met up with EJ's aunt and uncle. I stayed at their house and had a simple Malaysian style dinner.

At night, I went to JFK Airport to pick EJ from the airport. Her flight was delayed. Instead of arriving at 10pm, she arrived at 11.35pm, but came out from customs at 1am only. I was pooped.

On the way back home, we saw a guy being handcuffed by the cops at the roadside.

DAY 2:-
EJ and I started the day early. We had dim sum with EJ's aunt and uncle in Chinatown. The dim sum was better than the one I had in Flushing on day 1.

After dim sum, the both of us walked to Lower Manhattan.

United States Court House.

There were so many parks in NY. The first park we saw was Columbus Park. It is situated along Worth St. It is also known as The Avenue of the Strongest.

Newspaper stands in NY.

NY has so many tall buildings and art sculptures which I don't know how to appreciate.

The weather in NYC was awesome. It was windy and not too sunny. We headed to Brooklyn Bridge. There's two levels on the Brooklyn Bridge. The top level are for pedestrians and cyclist while the lower level are for cars. So, when we were walking above, we could feel and hear the cars zooming by below us.

The view of lower Manhattan was breathtaking from the Brooklyn Bridge.

We could see Manhattan Bridge from there too.

The camwhoring starts once we walked halfway on the bridge.

While walking back, a guy who was cycling crashed and he was bleeding profusely. It was a scary sight.

Later on, we walked to City Hall.

At City Hall, we visited the St. Paul's Chapel. The chapel was where all the injured victims or people affected from the September 11th went to pray.

We were looking for Wall Street. When I spotted the Wall Street sign a pointed it to my EJ, I tripped and fell on an uneven pathway. My three day old camera was in my right hand. All I thought about was saving my camera from damages while I was falling. I remembered vividly the fall was so slow that I had time to think, "Oh, no..Save the camera!" I fell, landed on all four, bled on my left knee, ached on both knees, and it looked uglier on the next few days. Below the part that bled was a HUGE bruise which turned dark blue on day 3. I guess the fall was bad. On day 4, I banged my knee on my luggage accidentally and the injured part bled again.. sigh..

After the fall I went to a cafe and wiped off the blood, and continued the days journey. Only when we reached home in the evening EJ helped me cleaned the wound using hydrogen peroxide which stung so badly i wanted to weep.

to be continued......
