Kite flying (II)

I think this shot was pretty hilarious.

It looked like GX and I were doing some sort of synchronized dance.

Kite flying (I)

My family and I went to the Metropolitan Park which is situated along the MRR2, 20 minutes away from home. We've always wanted to go there. Whenever we passed by the park on the highway, we could see dozens of kites flying in the air.

We were there at 12.00pm. Not exactly the right time to be flying a kite, as the sun was up and shining brightly.

I'd give two thumbs up to the park as it was very clean, and it had a breathtaking view of KL city(A good place to watch fireworks).

It wasn't really smooth sailing while flying the kite. Trying to get it to stay up in the air was torture, as the wind was not strong enough.

I looked on with envy as there were other kites flying sky high while we painstakingly try to make ours go higher. Heh.. I'm blaming the wind, but it was just the lack of skills ;p

After many failed attempts, I resorted to asking a little kid who was flying his kite sky high at ease. He took our kite, walked slowly, while the kite 'magically' floated up to he sky. I was in awww..

When it was 3pm, it started getting breezy and our kite finally stayed up!

We had rojak and cendol for tea at Tamana Melawati.

That was the adventure for the day... resulting in us getting sun-burnt. I'm lobster red now ;)

Lunch at Batu Caves

There's this place which has been a favourite among my family. It is somewhere in Batu Caves and I can never remember the name of the restaurant.

They serve one of the best Sang Har Meen and fish porridge with century eggs.

We brought Aunt Denise, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Malcolm to that restaurant yesterday.

It is a good place to meet up as the meal is always hearty and satisfying.

The Sang Har Meen comes with huge prawns and it is said to be cooked with duck eggs.

It definitely activates ones saliva glands just by staring at it ;p

After lunch, we went to Oldtown Cafe at Taman Melati for tea.

We spent a couple of hours there just chatting. Aunt Denise had a lot of stories to tell ;)

Starbucks

Popping into a Starbucks Cafe when I was in USA was not a big deal. There were Starbucks Cafe at almost every block, mall and bookstore. People walked around in the chilly morning holding a cup with the Starbucks logo.

In USA, people treat Starbucks almost equivalent to the coffee we buy from coffee shops in Malaysia.

Coming back to Malaysia, I needed to use wi-fi at KLCC. So, the only place well known for wi-fi is at Starbucks Cafe. Thus, I bought myself a tall hot chocolate. As expected, the price was five times more a cup of hot milo I could get somewhere else.
It definitely is a luxury to be able to drink at Starbucks in Malaysia.

Eventhough their hot chocolate with whipped cream was superb, I definitely can't frequent Starbucks here as much as I do when I was in USA :(

So What - Pink

It's been almost a week that I've been waking up at ungodly hours. Waking up so early in the morning for no apparent reason is a pain. Looks like I'm all geared up for uni
when uni only begins in January'09. I do try to stay in bed, but old habits die hard. Once I'm awake, I can never just lie on my bed. *Ungodly hours meaning 4am/5am*

Yesterday was a pretty eventful day. First up, I went to uni to finalize everything. I'm on my way :) Mum and i tried to take a new route home from uni, but ended up getting stuck in traffic. Instead of a twenty minute journey, we took an hour to get home.

Later at home, I was on msn, when there were confessions happening. Bleh.. I'm not good in that area. It made my head ached real bad. It definitely wasn't my cup of tea!

After that head banging moment, I helped mum in the kitchen to prepare dinner.

I cooked the sambal dried prawns from scratch and it tasted good!!!!!!!! HAHA

Then, there was ko-ebi. YUMMY.

And the main dish ---> Curry Laksa :)

>

All was good. I actually had fun in the kitchen!

Home-cooked food is definitely the best.

After dinner, mum, Hazel and I did a project. It was a Christmas project.

- 90 bars of soap.
- A number of flowery napkins.
- Three pairs of scissors and a special glue.

It's a soap decorating project.

A fine Christmas gift indeed!

It was actually a very easy project. But, after decorating 60 something bars of soaps, I was really pooped. We stopped there. Gonna continue today i guess.

And to end my post this time round, heh... GX came home from judo class and was super excited as she can rest her body on her head!

*CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!*

***********
Hee.. i take back my words about waking up at ungodly hours... Waking up at that hour allows me to chat with my friends from USA ;D

I am currently chatting with WJ and she told me there was a snow storm in Boston! I told her to go outside her house and snap a picture for me.. and she did, wearing slippers and a cotton jacket! LOL.. Thanks, mango :p
