Seattle Trip (Day 2)

I'm actually writing about Day 2 on Day 3. I thought of trying to blog before the day ends, but Day 2 was a long day and the fact that I am still jet-lagged doesn't help at all. That means, when it is only 9pm in Seattle (12am in Virginia), my brain is dead and I'm terribly sleepy as bedtime in Virginia is 12am for me.

I would say food played an important role on Day 2.

Jet-lag made me wake up at 7am while my sister and friend were still in slumberland till 10am. Thank god for wifi in the room. We left to Chinatown at 10.30am.

We had dim sum at Jade Restaurant. It took a excruciating long time for us to get a place to sit EVENTHOUGH we made reservations! Well, everyone who were there made reservations too! There were humans everywhere standing around, waiting patiently, with ears wide opened, hoping in great anticipation whenever a table leaves, that the hostess will call their reservation name.

Suffice to say, the place was PACKED! We had to squeeze our way through the front door, squeeze our way to the hostess stand, and I had ti squeeze my way even when I wanted to settle the bill.

But, the squeezing was all worth it as the FOOOOOD was AWESOME! Siew mai, and ha kau was the best I've had in USA. The fried yam was good but it was served cold. The two had checheong fan and some pork. I only stuffed myself with radish cake, salad prawn, and the steamed stuff.

The one chinese lady who served us was attentive and quick too! :)

After dim sum, we headed to Umi something supermarket to buy junk.
It was an asian supermarket. we bought yan yan, and Pocky.

There were also some cute buddha banks for sale.

From Chinatown we went back to rhe hotel, parked the car then walked to the monorail five minutes away and headed to Seattle Center where the Space Needle and museums were located.

I think paying USD15 for the Space Needle was a disappointment. The Space needle wasn't high enough and I didn't feel like the view was fantastic from up there.

Then we headed to the Museum of Music Project. Took some pictures around the building but decided not to go in.

Next was the Pacific Science Museum. A pretty interesting museum. Science is always interesting ;) There were kids everywhere playing with all the exhibits.

We spent about three hours in the museum. It was a nice place to visit.

We had dinner at a restaurant called The Crab Pot. It was an early dinner. But again, we had to wait for our turn to be seated. The place was busy too.

In crab pot we had two orders of Alaskan platter, crab bisque, mushroom crab cakes and a mudslide cake to end it.

The Alaskan Platter consists of two types of crabs, oysters, shrimps, mussels, sausages, baked potatoes, and corn. The corn was really sweet and juicy. The whole platter was delicious but I'd go back because of the corn!

Before the platters came, the server placed a huge piece of white paper on the table, gave us Crab Pot's bips, a wooden plate, a hammer, fork, and then poured out the whole platter of seafood onto the table.

We definitely had a feast!

Unfortunately..........

When we got to the hotel, my sister started puking and had diarrhoea. Through the night she puked four times.

Then again today, day 3, she puked once more even after Cory and I bought medication for her to take.

So here I am, on Day 3, lazing around in the hotel room as my sister, the navigator, the driver, is sick :(

The good thing is, it's downtown, and it's walking distance to shopping havens ;p

Oh, I went to Pike's Market this morning again and bought more grapes. The grapes were extremely juicy and sweet!! I bought persimmons, an apple and kiwi too.
