Roarr!

Aiyaya.. being a batch rep this sem is testing my patience.
I can write a book about the things I have to go through the past few weeks!

I post an announcement, it gets interpreted as something else.

I announce something, there's bound to be someone who will be blurrrr..

I post the announcement and announced it to the class, there's STILL someone who will be blurrr...

Then some ppl have some queries about doing something, they expect me to find the answers for them.. Sigh.. I have no intention of being anybody's personal assistant. Please go find the lecturer yourself if u have any queries, which does not involve the whole class.

But the one thing that irks me the most are stupid questions.
My tolerance level for stupid questions is this short: -

MJ vs A Charlie's angel

Hmm.. So, Michael Jackson dies at 50.
I am not feeling as sad as many people when they heard about Michael Jackson's death.
I don't really feel for him because it is sort of like "He saw it coming." with all his plastic surgery and weird life. Yes, I salute him for being the King of Pop. But then again...
It's like if a person starts taking drugs or smoke cigarettes, he sort of already knows how he is going to die.

I am more interested about Farrah Fawcett's death. She lived with anal cancer for three years! How can Michael Jackson's death overshadow hers?!

Scrabble babble

Here I am sitting in front of the tv, with the netbook on my lap. Johnny Depp's movie, Benny & Joon, is showing as I type this. It must be an old movie because he looks super duper young!

Ah, but Johnny Depp does not appeal to me nor his movie. The tv is just turned on as I wait for the next movie to start. I'm awaiting 8.10pm, when 27 Dresses will show. I watched the first part on Sunday but missed the rest because...

Dad: Cheng, lets go out to eat durian.
Me: I dont want. I want to watch this movie.
Dad: Fine! I will go eat alone.
Me: Haih.. ok I will go...

There! FYI my daddy was like that on that day because it was Father's Day. So, I guess he knew he had the right to get anything he asked for on that day ;)

Ah, but durian at tea time was marvelous. No regrets as it was the best durian I've ever had. It is a stall located at Salak South, and they serve chinese tea too!

It has been a week and a half since uni began again. This semester is fun! The first half of the year I lunched with seven close friends but now it is close to 17 friends!

This post is pictureless because I have been camera-less for nine whole days. I just didn't feel like carrying the camera around the past days.

Mum and my brother are leaving to Dubai/Paris/Luxemburg for six weeks! i envy them.... But then again, no mummy to watch over me for a month - A.W.E.S.O.M.E

This blog post is so random because tmr I have no classes as my batchmates and i cleverly 'manipulated' the one hour class tmr to another day :p Plus, we played charades today before lab and I seriously had the best laugh ever!!

Suffice to say, I'm in a cheerful mood.

Shall I add, I'm watching Transformers 2 tmr!!

I saw the tallest building in the world

Ah Dubai, Dubai.

I was warned that the weather was killingly burning hot. Thus, I came prepared with two hats, two sunglasses and a huge tube of suntan lotion.

It was night time when I first stepped foot on Dubai's soil. The heat- so true. It felt like I was in a sauna. The first meal I had was lamb mandi (lamb shank with rice). It was really good and highly recommemnded.

At night,Dubai was not as bad as the day time. It gets windy towards the evening thus making it not so bad to walk around.

Being a desert means heat. Scorching hot sun and cloudless skies. Since it was going to be a developed city, a bus stop is, of course, needed. They have AIR-CONDITIONED bus stops! "Hellooo"*waves to Malaysian goverment*

On the roads, I could also see cameras which capture speeding cars. You can find it almost everywhere in Dubai.

There were abundant skyscrapers in Dubai. Rows and rows of tall buildings, most of them still under construction.

Dubai has the tallest building in the world.

It looks shorter than the Petronas twin building due to the cloudless skies and the fact that the surrounding buildings in Dubai were extremely tall too.

Dubai is also famous for their beaches.

Crystal clear waters.... But then again, the heat! OMG.. I saw some red cooked mat salleh. It was high noon and there were so many of them sun bathing or swimming at the beach.

I wore sliipers and felt the sand, and it was burning hot. But, they were barefooted!

Dubai.. Desert, dunes and camels

Three days has passed since I came back from my seven days vacation in Dubai. There are tons of pictures! I would say there were approximately 150 pictures taken on each day.

The one thing that made the trip memorable was........

THE DESERT TOUR

I rode on the dunes!

I sat on a camel, and was screaming when it got up with me on it...

It was freaky as it tilts so much!

And it had the cheek to smile :P

More to come....

On foot

The one thing I rarely do, but I did it today - Walking in the afternoon around KL City!

Four of us went from Time Square --> Low Yat --> Time Square --> Sungei Wang --> Lot 10 --> Pavillion --> KLCC --> Zouk KL

The weather was sunny. I desperately looked for any shadow like from the tall traffic light stands, to protect me from the blazing sunlight. KL City needs more trees!

Nevertheless, present company made the day FUN :)

Porcelain painting

First up a picture of the accessories sold at Ampcorp Mall's weekend flea market. It was beautiful, cheap and we could bargain for a cheaper price!

That was yesterday, and then there's today...........
Of late, I've been really in the artsy-fartsy zone.
I think it all comes down to the fact that:
- Science has always been 1+1=2, having to be meticulously accurate and precise.
-Dancing has always been about step by step movements, following the rhythm, if not it will be deemed awkward. Even free style dance has to be choreographed.

As for painting, it has no boundaries nor rules. A rose can be drawn as it is or as an abstract or just a swirl. It can also be painted black, white, red, yellow or any other colour, and no one will think twice about it because it is ART. Everybody - fat or thin, tall or short.. can do this hobby. As a matter of fact, this hobby can be pursued till we're old and grey! Therefore, I think it is a good skill to enhance.

I've taken up a new form of art. It's porcelain painting!

The designs we see on dinner plates, cups, tiles on the wall, porcelain boxes, etc were done through porcelain painting. I figured it would be an interesting skill to learn. Hence, today marks the first day of my porcelain class.

The art teacher, who is my mum's friend, has studied the art by working with great artistes in Geneva.
She has a son named Samuel. He is an adorable and I'd say bloody handsome two year old.

Surprisingly, he adores my mum. Today he called my mum, "Aunty darling", which made my mum laughed with glee.

He loves posing for cameras too!

Heh.. a little side tracked there :P

The stuff used for porcelain painting::
1) Turpentine

2) Lavender oil and another solution i forgot the name.

3) Paint

4) The porcelain to paint on and a very fine paint brush.

As it was my first class, she taught me basic painting ie: I was required to sketch out fruits, leaves and a butterfly. Then I was taught the strokes, which I would say were different compared to when I'm using watercolours.

The results of the lesson today:

And the rest of it was homework.

I can't wait to learn more! I'm hoping to learn as much as I can within the next two weeks ie:before the semester starts.
The teacher told me, porcelain painting is a Never-ending process.

When the class was over, hunger hit me hard. It was almost past lunchtime! It shows how intrigued I was with the class :)

We tried this new place called San Francisco Pizza Cafe.

TWO thumbs up!

I love fruitful days ;)
