Maturing phase?

There comes a point in life when I don't feel like blogging much anymore.
The frequency of my postings has been dwindling - from 7 days per week to once per week or every fortnight.

I haven't talked about my GF1.

The good food I had in Singapore.

My funny weird (in a good way) friends.

And recently, the Japanese buffet I had at Xenri.

No time no time......

The Stimulated Patient

"When you choose to skip classes, you should at least make the effort to ask a friend what happened in class, because most of the time, important things happen! If you don't ask, you won't know and so, you have only yourself to blame."

We nominated..
We voted...
We announced the winners today!

Twas Awards Day where we gave out awards to 30 different categories such as Best Smile, Most Ah Lian, Pink Freak and etc.
I, for one, would like to thank the bunch of batchmates who voted for me as Most Dependable.

Also, KUDOS to the people involved in organising the Awards Day.

Today was also the day where I needed to act.
The scenario was that I was a pharmacist and this angry patient comes to see me, scolding me about the wrong drug dosage given, which also differed from what was written on the prescription label.
I failed big time. Many things were running through my mind.

I, the pharmacist says sorry.
But, obviously the patient was not satisfied.
Whatmore when I had a dramatic patient,
who then presses the issue further by saying she will sue me...

And I make her shoot more bullets to my chest (and my brain) for smiling.
"The way you are smiling I dont believe you are genuine when you say you are sorry.."
Zzzz.. in a way, I wasn't sorry because in reality, I DID NOTHING WRONG.
lol

But yea, like I said earlier, I can't act.
Besides that, my mind was sort of on the defensive mode.
I was thinking of ways to not only calm the angry patient, but also to convince the patient that it really was an accident..

Then the patient goes...
"What kind of pharmacist are you?"
"How long have you been a pharmacist?"
"How can you not see the difference in the colour of the drug?"

My mind was like a chess game thinking of STRATEGIES to DEFEND myself because I was being ATTACKED.
Unfortunately, my mind was blank. Thankfully I have never dreamt of becoming a lawyer;)

In the end, I gave up. Raised the white flag because I couldn't stop smiling.
Simple enough, the solution to the scenario was to tell the patient that it was the pharmacy assistant who did the filling, not me, and also, to offer the patient an immediate medical checkup.

Me smiling definitely allowed her to push more of my buttons.
Poor defense, and NO strategy
Hence..
CHECKMATE!

The downside to life

more like peptic ulcer. I think my stomach lining is really thinning due to the acid.

Suffered the worst attack today while driving home from uni.
I knew the cause. I could have seen it coming. But, I've always chose to ignore it.
The cause: Not eating at regular intervals.

The thing about being me is that,
I can't eat when I am under stress.
I can't eat when I have things to do.
I won't eat until I have finished doing things I'm suppose to do.

Which leads to...
improper eating schedule.

It is an ongoing thing for many years where i tell people I MUST eat every four hours if not I'll suffer the burning sensation and sharp pain which prevents me from sitting straight.
I have been reading a lot about gastric over the years.

But, I was in DENIAL = poor compliance

Today while driving I felt the pain on chest aka heartburn.
The thing that came to mind: Oh shit, this is getting serious!

I guess my time to go get an ENDOSCOPY is way overdue.
I've been avoiding it as I heard the doc will stuff a tube into the mouth n it goes in n into the stomach..
I already have difficulties swallowing tablets..
Even the dentist's water hose they put in my mouth makes me choke
I SEE MYSELF CHOKING A LOT with endoscopy:(

Week 5

There goes the end of Week 5. I actually am so preoccupied till I get mixed up with the weeks, and it is not even double digits yet.

Recap for the week:
HIGHLIGHT: Got punk'd by Mr. Keivan... I guess it was his forget-me-not tactic since it was his last class with us. Imagine, in 15 or 20 years down the road, this prank he did would still be one of the most memorable IMU story to share!

Also the fact that he calls me Jennifer coz he says he cannot pronounce my name.

Frequency of dozing off during lectures was on the rise this week. Not only me ;) Signs of exhaustion!
But, we did have some pretty interesting lectures with some awesome lecturers...

Heavy thunderstorms in the evenings...

oohh too tired to continue....

Dining @ The Loaf, Pavillion

PREVIOUSLY I wrote about my obsession with bread from The Loaf.
Aside from being a bakery, The Loaf is also a great place to wine and dine, be it for lunch or dinner.

Places to sit:
1) The verandah if u want to enjoy the sun

2) Inside the restaurant. Pretty cozy.
2) Near the escalators inside the mall.
The Loaf gives monthly promotions and discounts for members for their bakery items and dining menu.

In April, their promotion was for Cajun Chicken Sandwich for RM8.99. Originally it costs RM22.
It was definitely a deal hard to resist. Furthermore, it taste fantabulous!

Cajun Chicken Sandwich: You have a choice of bread for the sandwich.

As you can see below, the Cajun Chicken sandwich was definitely a mouthful;)

My favourite dish from The Loaf's dine-in menu is the Chilli Prawn pasta (RM26).

Chilli Prawn Pasta: Juicy fresh prawns spiced up with a touch of local chilli, and a slice of garlic bread.

I think it was worth the price as they do give a generous amount of deshelled prawns and sphaghetti noodle.

Other pastas I've tried include Presto Pesto and Chunky Country Chicken Spaghetti.

As written in the menu, Presto Pesto consist of zuchini, button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes tossed in pesto and light tomato sauce.

I didn't really favour Presto Pesto as the tomato sauce was really very light tasting. Hence, I wouldn't recommend Presto Pesto to tomato and spaghetti bolognaise lovers!

The Country Chicken Spaghetti tasted a bit like Presto Pesto but definitely with a stronger tomato flavour.

It has chunky bite-sized grilled chicken sauteed with button mushroom, and zucchini in traditional arabiatta sauce.

One thing I failed to mention at the top is that The Loaf provides complementary bread as starters when dining in.
Unfortunately, eventhough I've dined there at least a dozen times, but the waiter always failed to serve the bread before the main course comes. There were also a couple of times when I had to remind the waiter to serve it.

As for dinner, I've only dined at The Loaf once. But it was pricey to do it often. Yes, the lunch menu is different than the dinner menu - content wise and price wise.

Nightmare....

Today my friends and I watched
Nightmare on Elm Street.
It was kind of freaky.
I brought a jacket which came to

good use throughout the movie.
The cinema was freezing cold, and

the movie needed some 'eye-covering'.

Watching the movie was like being on a

roller coaster waiting for the next drop!

Overall, it was a good watch for ppl who

wanna scare themselves silly.
Spend Rm12 to scare yourself ;)
But, dont think too much about the whole plot,

as it doesn't make sense.

Before midnight strikes....

This sem, besides trying to study,
its also all about PHOTOGRAPHY..
It is just Week 4, but the number of photos taken
can make it to the Book of Records!

Anyway,
I'm not complaining.... :)

Dresscode

I think being appropriately dressed for the right occasion is necessary
- especially when being a pharmacist

Look professional because you are getting a professional degree.

Mother's day

In conjunction with Mother's day, GX and I decided to bake a cake for mum.

I've always wanted to try making oreo vanilla ice cream cake.
Hence, I took this an as opportunity to try making it.. (also because I rarely bake)

After 30 minutes of preparations and baking, the cake was ready.

Three tiered vanilla oreo ice cream chocolate cake topped with almond chips and a gummy lip as deco.

We had to refrigerate the cake so that the ice cream was frozen.
We also wanted it to be a surprise for mum. Therefore we couldnt wait till Mother's Day to show mum the cake as mum is always in the kitchen and she would have saw it before we showed it to her.

Thus, we gave it to her on the night before Mother's Day.

Mum and dad finished the cake... meaning it was good :)

Reading

My head really spun when reading the HP articles.
One article took me 4 hours to thoroughly understand what it was all about.
I took another 4 hours to read the second article.....
After 8 hours of reading, I raise the white flag for the day..

There are 7 articles to read = I need 28 hours.....

2 articles per day should be sufficient..
Somemore have to read it a second, third and fourth time to really know the articles inside out.

MeCanDoIt :)
